Grupo Don Mario is a global company that applies cutting-edge technology for the research, development, and commercialization of soybean varieties and other crops.
GDM has a history of over 40 years, a team of 500 people, and is responsible for the genetics of 45% of the world's soybean production.
The Challenge
Grupo Don Mario approached Cultura IT with the need to streamline information capture to monitor seed growth.
The main challenge lay in the constant loss of such data for business decision-making, along with the number of steps in the process and the delays in production and commercialization.
With this context, we joined forces with GDM by assigning a dedicated Cultura team and began working.
Our Solution
With a dedicated squad composed of key roles, we at Cultura immersed ourselves in GDM's operation to address this main challenge.
Starting from existing technology with various inherited development problems, we managed to optimize processes month by month and achieve the initial objective (streamlining the capture of seed growth traceability).
True to our style, we saw the opportunity to slowly incorporate our agile methodology of work within GDM's team with multiple responsible roles, ceremonies, processes, and outcomes.
This eventually created a bond between the two companies that allowed us to continue working on various GDM products with optimized work processes and scalable teams in the long term, providing solutions to countries such as Argentina, Brazil, and the United States.
The Impact
From a challenge that we initially believed would be short-term, we managed to generate a bond of trust between the parties that, as of today and since 2020, allows us to continue working together.
Month by month and year by year, we not only optimize more and more products and solutions of the company but also increase the metrics with which we measure our squads.
